Web accessibility
Web accessibility & European Accessibility Act compliance
The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many products and services sold to consumers in the EU, including online shops. We audit WordPress and WooCommerce sites against WCAG 2.1 AA and fix what we find.
Who needs to act
If you sell to consumers in the EU online, the EAA probably applies to your website or store. Microenterprises providing services – fewer than 10 employees and annual turnover or balance sheet of no more than €2 million – are exempt from the service requirements, but accessible sites still reach more customers.
Online stores
E-commerce services sold to EU consumers are explicitly covered by the Act.
Service providers
Banking, transport, e-books and electronic communications websites and apps are also in scope.
Public sector suppliers
Public bodies already follow the Web Accessibility Directive and increasingly require WCAG compliance from suppliers.
How we work
01
Audit
Automated scans plus manual checks: keyboard navigation, screen reader testing, contrast, forms, headings and media.
02
Report
A prioritised list of issues mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria, in plain English.
03
Fix
We fix the theme, templates, plugins and content on WordPress and WooCommerce sites.
04
Statement
We help you publish an accessibility statement and a way for users to report problems.
Why not an overlay plugin?
Accessibility overlays and widgets add a toolbar on top of your site, but they do not fix the underlying code: missing labels, broken keyboard navigation or poor structure. Real compliance means fixing the site itself – that is what we do.
Frequently asked questions
Which standard do you test against?
WCAG 2.1 level AA, which is the level referenced by the European standard EN 301 549 used for the EAA.

Do you work on sites not built in WordPress?
